Day 26 - Portrait Study Speedpaint 4 by ShaneProcrastinates Day 26 - Portrait Study Speedpaint 4 by ShaneProcrastinates
Heya :D

Tried a more realistic approach this time to my reference, changed a few blending and lighting etc to suit the composition a bit more.

The model I used as reference is this image.

Thanks for viewing :)

Cool, the eyes are looking nice! The reflections add a nice amount of depth. Watch out on the shape of the chin, it's skewing to the left a bit too much. Try dropping a line down from between the eyebrow and through the nose to keep the chin centered.

The soft lighting is working well. The highlights on the cheeks and nose feel natural. Keep it up!

:) Thanks! Yeah I worked on them at 300% zoom if I recall. Yeah chin was a bit hard cause of the reference shot I used being a bit awkward.
I'm trying to find really hard pics to use as reference to try and learn the most I possibly can in a study.
I also find making the face a bit curvy to be tough , as they always end up with the circular appearance .-.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it :) It all helps to improve!

Getting the facial proportions correct is really hard, I still have problems with the spacing between the eyes and nose. Try doing some skull studies, learning the placement of the bones is a great way to visualize where everything fits and it should help with how to draw the jaw so it doesn't end up all curvy.

No problem! Keep on improving!

I honestly can't believe I didn't even think of that, LOL whoops.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion! I will probably do that :D
I just find it really hard to make the strokes on my tablet still, I need to get used to it I guess.

Thanks again :D

Aw yeah, getting used to drawing on a tablet takes time before it's second nature. Once it is it's just fantastic though. Do studies however your comfortable with and it'll all click.

Ooh this is so pretty <3 I love her expression. Great job on the lines too! It's so simple, yet has a wonderful look to it.
